Your privacy is fundamental to us. At Fibio, we build a personal finance tool that respects your data and gives you total control over your information.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and what rights you have over it. By using Fibio, you accept the practices described in this document.
1. Information We Collect
To offer you a complete and personalized experience, Fibio collects different types of information.
1.1. Information You Create Voluntarily
Detailed Financial Activity: Records of your income, expenses, account transfers, pending debts, active loans, monthly budgets, and savings goals.
Categories and Organization: The categories you assign to your transactions, custom tags, additional notes, and any organization system you use.
Files and Receipts: If you decide to attach photos or files (such as receipts or invoices), these are stored securely along with the corresponding transaction.
Profile Information: Your name or nickname, profile picture, currency preferences, language, and regional settings.
1.2. Automatic Technical Information
Device Data: Device model, operating system version, unique identifiers, language settings, and time zone.
Usage Patterns: Which features you use most frequently, how much time you spend in different sections, and how you navigate the interface.
Error Logs: Information about technical problems to identify and fix bugs.
Performance Metrics: Load times, memory usage, and battery consumption.
1.3. Optional Device Permissions
Camera: To take photos of receipts directly from the app.
Gallery: To select existing images from your device.
Storage: To save local backups and export reports.
Notifications: For logging reminders, budget alerts, and motivational messages.
You can modify these permissions at any time from your device settings.
2. How and Where We Store Your Data
2.1. Local Storage (Default)
By default, all your financial information is stored locally on your device using SQLite technology. Your data lives solely on your phone or tablet.
Total Privacy: In local mode, Fibio (the company) has no technical access to your financial data. We cannot see how much you spent or what you spent it on.
Your Responsibility: You are responsible for creating backups. If you lose your device or format it without backup, your data will be permanently lost and we cannot recover it.
2.2. Cloud Features (Optional)
If you activate cloud synchronization or Premium services:
Encryption: Your data is encrypted before leaving your device using industry-standard algorithms.
Secure Servers: We use recognized providers (AWS or Google Cloud) with the highest security standards.
Protected Access: Only you can access your information through your authenticated account.
Retention: We maintain your data while your account is active. If you delete your account, it is deleted in 30 days. Security backups may contain it for up to 90 additional days.
3. How We Use Your Information
3.1. Service Operation
We process your transactions, calculate budgets, generate personalized statistics, and maintain synchronization between devices.
3.2. Product Improvement
We analyze aggregated and anonymized usage patterns to decide which features to develop and improve. This analysis can never be traced back to you as an individual.
3.3. Artificial Intelligence
We train AI models for automatic categorization, expense predictions, and mascot advice using completely anonymized data. The model learns general patterns from thousands of users, never your specific information.
3.4. Communication
We send you security updates, policy changes, technical support responses, and notices about new features. Never spam or unsolicited marketing.
3.5. Security
We monitor abnormal patterns to detect security violations or unauthorized use.
3.6. Legal Compliance
In exceptional cases, we may use or disclose information to comply with legal obligations or respond to valid legal processes.
4. Sharing Information with Third Parties
4.1. We Do Not Sell Your Data
We do not sell, rent, or exchange your personal information. Our business model is based on offering direct value, not monetizing your data.
4.2. Essential Service Providers
Cloud Infrastructure: AWS or Google Cloud host our servers under strict confidentiality agreements.
Error Analysis: Firebase Crashlytics detects technical errors but has no access to your financial data.
Analytics: They receive anonymized usage data at an aggregated level.
All operate as data processors under our instructions and are contractually obligated to protect your information.
4.3. Exclusive Internal Analysis
All aggregated data analysis remains completely internal. We do not share insights with third parties.
4.4. Legal Requirements
We may disclose information by court orders, valid subpoenas, or law compliance. We carefully evaluate legitimacy and only provide the minimum necessary.
4.5. Corporate Transfers
If Fibio is acquired or merged, your information could be transferred. We will notify you and new owners will remain obligated to protect it under this policy.
5. Security of Your Data
5.1. Technical Measures
We use TLS/SSL encryption for data in transit. We maintain firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and continuous monitoring. We update regularly and patch vulnerabilities.
5.2. Organizational Measures
Limited access to specific employees who need it. All access is logged and audited. Continuous security training and strict confidentiality agreements.
5.3. Your Responsibility
Protect your device with strong passwords, keep the operating system updated, and avoid malicious apps. Do not jailbreak or root.
5.4. Limitations
No system is impenetrable. We cannot guarantee 100% security.
6. Your Rights and Control
Access: See all your information in the app at any time.
Export: Export your data in CSV, Excel, or PDF from settings.
Rectification: Edit any data directly in the interface.
Deletion: Delete transactions, categories, or your complete account. Deletion is permanent.
Permission Control: Modify permissions from your device settings.
7. Children's Privacy
Fibio is not directed at children under 13. We do not intentionally collect information from children. If we discover we have done so, we will delete it immediately.
8. International Transfers
Your data may be transferred to countries with different privacy laws. We use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses. We comply with GDPR for EU/EEA users.
9. Data Retention
Active Account: We maintain all your data while you use Fibio.
After Deletion: Deleted from production systems in 30 days. Security backups for up to 90 additional days.
Anonymized Data: Completely anonymized data may be retained indefinitely for analysis.
10. Newsletter and Email Communications
If you subscribe to our newsletter:
You will receive: Financial tips, feature announcements, special offers, educational content, and occasional surveys.
Frequency: Generally 2-4 emails monthly.
Optional: You do not need to subscribe to use Fibio.
Cancellation: Click "Unsubscribe" in any email, or write to us directly. We process cancellations within 48 hours.
Privacy: We do not sell or share email lists with third parties.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy when we add features or privacy laws change.
Notification: We will post changes in the app, send internal notifications, and for important changes may require you to review and accept the new policy.
Continued Consent: Using Fibio after changes means you accept the new policy.
